Professional Statement
I am interested in pursuing this doctoral study because it equips me with tools and
strategies that are critical in research. The doctoral program also allows me to position myself
for better and more opportunities. These opportunities will enable me to have a better
understanding of the higher system of education as well as conducting quality and reliable
research in my areas of specialization. Moreover, studying this doctoral program will provide
me with an opportunity and a platform and share my experience and background with others
as a way of making my contribution in trying to address the challenges facing PK-16 public
schools in California. I believe that this program will assist and empower me towards the
achievement of my future goals in the field of the academia. Further, I will be equipped with
the knowledge and skills necessary in handling the subject matter regarding to the plight of
the PK-16 public schools in California. Some of the challenges facing such schools are
associated with policies and systemic issues that require the participation and contribution
from experts in the educational sector.
As such, studying this doctoral study will not just present me with the opportunity to
obtain a deeper understanding of the issues and challenged affecting public schools in
California but I will also be in a position to develop effective solutions. I clearly understand
that reliable and working solution in any given challenge, especially those affecting the
educational sector, can be effectively established if the key stakeholders are interested in
carrying out the necessary studies and investigations that allow them to get to the root causes
of such challenges. Additionally, it is imperative for institutions of higher learning charged
with the responsibility of offering doctoral studies in the field of education to ensure that the
focus of such studies is finding solutions.

There are a number of accomplishments that are attributable to the demonstration of
the potential for skills in leadership as well as my ability to take part in educational reforms.
Some of these accomplishments include a Bachelor Degree in Management Sciences,
Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Religious Studies, the successful conduction of an
independent research on Eastern Christianity as well as teaching English language for Amal
Educational Network and high school students. Moreover, I have managed to be issued with a
permanent teaching licensure and a tenure from the Israeli Ministry of Education following
my long-term consistent delivery of service as a teacher working in the Israeli ministry of
education and particularly elementary and junior high schools. I have also been able to
acquire leadership attributes and skills in the course of the leadership role played at various
points especially during the undertaking of duties and responsibilities as a teacher.
Other than teaching, I have also engaged various members of the community
especially my students and their parents in various social activities that have a direct impact
on streamlining the educational system and enhancing the performance of students in co-
curricular activities among others. To that extent, there is no doubt that I possess the
necessary knowledge and skills as well as a wealth of diverse experience from various
institutions and learning environment which, are vital in the development of appropriate
reforms in the educational sector. The process of developing education reform requires the
participation of academicians and professionals in the education sector with a broad
understanding the challenges and obstacles that stand in the way of delivering quality
education through an efficient educational system. This is because the issues raised by key
stakeholders are the ones expected to form the basis of policy formulation with the aim of
bringing about the necessary reforms to this sector.
My ability to succeed in a rigorous program of doctoral studies can be clearly
demonstrated through various achievements and experiences. Such experiences and

achievements were evident in the course of my previous academic studies, my ability to solve
problems and my interest when it comes to the critical assessment of educational practices
and policies. One of such experiences was demonstrated when I was able to graduate in the
year 2005 with a Bachelor Degree in Management Sciences having studied at Harding
University in Searcy, AR. Moreover, I was awarded a diploma in teaching at the Hebrew
University of Jerusalem in the year 2014 after attaining a grade point average of 94. In the
year 2008, I managed to enroll to study an interdisciplinary graduate program in Religious
Studies at Tel-Aviv University where I graduated with Magna Cum Laude.
When it comes to the demonstration of my ability to succeed in this doctoral program,
I am able to present the evidence regarding my capabilities and experiences in solving
problems. I can confidently indicate that I managed to carry out an independent study on
Eastern Christianity between the years 2010 and 2011. The outcomes and recommendations
in this study played a critical role in providing reliable solutions to the problems that were
adversely affecting the well-being and growth of Eastern Christianity. In demonstrating my
interests in critically assessing and improving educational practices and policies, I was able to
deliver incredible teaching services as well as taking part in various processes of policy
formulations that positively influenced the learning and teaching processes. Such
contributions led to the enhancement of the educational process for students, teachers and
other key stakeholders in various organizations and institutions of learning. All these
achievements clearly indicate that I am capable of handling this doctoral program.
