INTRODUCTION
Purpose of Plan
The plan is aimed at the integration of mobility into the enterprise at Microsoft. The
number of the global workforce relying on Microsoft supported devices and software has grown
significantly; therefore, there is a need for creation of a cost-effective and streamlined platform
offering standardization on a single platform while increasing the availability of devices to users.
Additionally, there is the need for incorporation of strong security features to protect intellectual
property, corporate property, enterprise data and critical business data.
Background Information
Microsoft has been developing mobile software for more than a decade, and in that time,
the growth of users has increased. Mobile phones have become an essential and fundamental part
of users in doing business aside personal use. Therefore, the company has come up with multiple
strategies for management of the rapid growth process of devices.
Project Approach
This project is designed at increasing the incorporation of mobile computing into the
enterprise. Since the needs and goals are identified, the next step is to select the appropriate
mobile operator and signing a contract with them then determining the best suit mobile device
for use by employees. All that done, the company will then make moves to increase the security
of enterprise information which resides on the mobile devices.
