Racism
Social justice is a concept that encompasses equality and human rights. For a long
time, societies have suffered from social injustice in the distribution of opportunities and
resources. Social injustice also entails unmerited treatment of people due to sexism, racism,
religion, sexual orientation and socioeconomic status among others. For a long time,
individuals have been discriminated based on their racial backgrounds.
Racism exists in almost all nations. It Is the act of treating someone unfairly or
differently due to their different ethnic background, nationality all religion (Buckley 23).
When an individual views their race as better or superior to the others, he or she is a racist
and spreads racism in the society. The existence of racism has led to the loss of lives,
children, and families. People have been chased from their homes and their properties
destroyed due to racism. It is a global malice that civil organizations have worked relentlessly
to stop.
Racism results in war if not addressed. For instance, during the Second World War,
people felt that their race was superior to other races. Failure to accommodate each other led
to the war. Racism was also the reason for the slavery of black Americans in the United
States (Buckley 23). They were viewed as inferior and unintelligent compared to the whites.
Racism was the result of maltreatment of African Americans in the south. The white race
applied power and force to rule over another race.
