Slow Internet speed
A dial-up internet connection is perhaps the slowest form of internet connection. It takes
too long to load even a simple webpage and downloading a few megabytes file can take hours. In
the contemporary world, characterized by fast and efficient IT processes, the dial-up connection
is outdated, and now the broadband internet connection is preferable (Hernández, 2010).
Broadband Internet connection has high access speeds and can be offered through cable, satellite,
digital subscriber line (DSL), and fiber-optic.
Challenges of Technological Improvement
The dial-Up technology has no room for improvement or upgrade. Consequently, no
transformations can be made to improve its speed and efficiency. Latest internet technologies are
scalable and can be adapted to support 3G, 3.5G, 4G, and 5G internet-enabled devices. Dial-Up
internet technology was not developed on platforms that promote development, so it is
impossible for users to predict or prepare for the future (Hernández, 2010). Thus, the dial-up
internet technology is outdated and obsolete.
Requires Many Peripherals
Modern technologies are easier to use and have the very limited external equipment.
Thus, they are easy to migrate with, save space and energy. The dial-up connection requires
many external types of material such as a modem that undermines mobility (Hernández, 2010).
Their portability distinguishes them as the most preferred type of internet connection.
Complex to Use
The dial-up internet technology is challenging to use since it requires the user to
