Saleh’s Death Impact upon the Civil War in Yemen
Introduction
It is worth noting that the act of eliminating former Yemen president Ali Saleh in the
hands of the Houthis rebels may have introduced greater complications into the situation that was
already complicated in the nation as Almasmari et al. (2017) says in his article. The ongoing civil
war within the borders of Yemen might have even taken such a dramatic turn on the onset Ali’s
death. This cruel death was considered by the rebel groups to be their punishment for the way the
leader switched sides to the Saudi Arabia backed coalition. Regardless of any immediate impact
from Saleh's death, this war within Yemen shall turn out to be intriguing on the civilians lives
which are at stake.
Hypotheses
Hypothesis 1: The death of Saleh will not cause any issues since he lost his power and his party
almost collapse after his death.
Hypothesis 2: The death of Saleh will cause more chaos in Yemen since his son Ahmed
declared that he will lead his father’s forces to revenge for him.
Hypothesis 3: The collation would benefit from Saleh’s death by using his son as an ally for
them since the son has a strong relationship with the United Arab Emirates.
Hypothesis 4: The Houthi militia will have a negative consequence because they lost a strong
ally and they must fight the collation and Saleh forces. Saleh is the camouflage for the Houthi
and they lost it.
Choice of Hypotheses
The various hypotheses fronted to generate the discussion shall be identified as follows
based upon the structure of the analytical techniques together with the use of assumptions.
SALEH’S DEATH IMPACT 3
Hypothesis 1: The firths hypothesis regards the death of Saleh not causing any issues since he
lost his power and his party almost collapse after his death. Many have regarded the civil war
within Yemen to be a proxy war happening between Iran with Saudi Arabia (BBC, 2017). The
assumption for this hypothesis is that the proxy war cannot influence the peace negotiations in
Yemen as WAM (2017).
Hypothesis 2: The second hypothesis says that the death of Saleh will cause mores chaos in
Yemen since his son Ahmed declared that he will lead his father forces to revenge for him. BBC
(2017) ascertains that there will be no resolution to this ongoing conflict within Yemen. The
assumption used here is that the killing of Saleh by rebel groups shall sparks further bloodshed in
Sanaa region and this can also be seen in WAM (2017) article.
Hypothesis 3: The collation would benefit from Saleh death by using his son as an ally for them
since the son has a strong relationship with the United Arab Emirates. It is not being speculative
to ascertain to the fact that the killing of Ali Saleh in a violent manner would not bring to an end
the Yemen’s civil war. The Aboudi (2017) author affirms that the revenge against the Houthi
rebel groups would bring to an end the negotiations for peace.
Hypothesis 4: The fourth hypothesis is insignificant to the discussion as a whole since it
generally concerns about the negative consequence to be faced by the Houthi militia instead of
the effects realized from Saleh’s death.

From this analysis, the other articles given have information whose reliability is not clear
as it cannot help to give a clearer conclusion about the civil war within Yemen. There is also no
need to use any graphics because there is no data to analyze in a bid to come up with a
conclusion for the situation about Yemen since the analysis isn’t indicative of any measure. The
inclusion of graphics will not be possible in the analysis.
Conclusion
Despite the death of Saleh, there is still a belief that a peaceful resolution for the conflict
in Yemen can still be reached. There is going to emerge renewed calls that all the sides have to
commit towards a ceasefire that is somehow temporary by the UN so that peace negotiations can
be achieved in the long run. It remains to be certain that capital of Sanaa is going to continue
being filled up with gunfire sounds in a relentless manner together with screams since there shall
be hardline stand being held by the faction groups.
