GALAXY S8 VERSUS iPhone 8 2
Samsung’s Galaxy S8 versus Apple’s iPhone 8
The supremacy of Galaxy S8 over its close rival iPhone 8 is indisputable. The two phones
from the phone industry’s leading giants have set the pace for other companies. Although
designed and manufactured to serve the continually changing consumers needs and interests,
Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8 not only differ in the technologies used to produce their various
components but also vary in performance. Apparently, a comparison of the two top-notch
devices, with a specific focus on features and performance, reveals that Samsung Electronics has
taken the rivalry to a wholly new level.
The two phones have some similarities in physical features although the few differences
make S8 the premier. Parker (2017) explains that both phones are slim enough to fit in the palm
comfortably, and tall-and-narrow form factor makes it easy to reach all the parts of the screen
with ease. However, despite having almost the same dimensions and weight, the screen to body
ratio makes S8 a better choice for smartphone fanatics. Its 6.2-inch display stretches from edge
to edge with a sexy curve that provides a better view of videos, images, and text (Kumar, 2017).
Appreciably, the slim design makes it possible to operate the phone using single hand despite the
large screen.
A comparison between the quality of the display in the two phones proves significant
difference with Samsung S8 proving to be better. According to Spoonauer (2017), the Apple’s
iPhone 8 has maintained the 4.7-inch Retina HD display and the 3D touch but failed to improve
the pixel or resolution density of 326ppi, and the only noticeable upgrade is the inclusion of true
one and wide color gamut capabilities that give users a better contrast. The design, though, has
been criticized insignificant improvements in the display quality. By comparison, the Samsung’s
Galaxy S8 offers much more with its 6.2-inch screen made with the Super AMOLED technology
