Should Speech be a required class?

A speech is a means of communication or expression of thoughts used people to deliver a

given message. It is a combination of syntactic resonance and items drawn from word listings in

the alphabet. It is apt to say that speech should be an important class to pursue based on the

advantages it offers to the students.

Public speaking today has now become a necessity for most professions. However, it is

one of the biggest fears and most torturous moments for most individuals both young and old

voice one's inner thoughts ideas and better sell ones opinion to the public. Among the soft skills

learned are the articulation of ideas, ability to research and organize what one has to say into

intentional and meaningful narratives. The experience gained from the speech classes come in

handy when ones can change the opinion of a crowd and steer them into one way of the thinking

taking advantage of one's influence, mastery, delivery, and command of the language. The

obtained skills help build ones confidence and be able to engage people with a conviction

making ones a great orator and facilitator.

Speech classes allow the students to be creative and come up with ideas in a short time

and at the same time sound fluid. These classes are therefore crucial towards the holistic

grooming of students and therefore should be required for most if not all the degrees.
