TASH Inclusive Education
TASH advocates for relationships, participation, full membership and learning of all students
who are disabled, and within inclusive education settings. This network of advocates’ supports
diversity in the classroom and the society and it recognizes the fundamental right to, and
reciprocal gain of inclusive education for learners with and without disabilities.
According to TASH, real inclusion is achieved within general education classes whereby
students with body disabilities have access to standard education curriculum and learn in the
same classrooms with their same-aged friends without disabilities.
Personally, I fully support the TASHA initiative because it supports a vision of lifelong
learning for learners regardless of the severity of disability or age, including access to
universities, post-secondary opportunities, and even colleges. The advocates envision
postsecondary education which helps in transforming learning and broad social change that
allows the total participation of citizens with different experiences and ways of understanding to
develop an appreciation for each one’s participation. The United Nations also supported the
movement, and new set of guidelines were drafted ("TASH Resolution on Post-Secondary
Education")
Intellectual Disability
The moment intellectual disability is suspected, it is assumed that the victim will mainly
have a challenge with the most basic concepts of functional skills and communication. Adaptive

behavior scales are used to measure intellectual disabilities by interviewing teachers, parents and
even the student using the Vineland Scale II. This kind of scale measure the three limitations
mentioned, and it is the favorite because it comes with inventions and strategies, which are
already suggested. The final output comes by taking average of all the survey given to the
learner’s support cycle ("What Are the Intelligence and Adaptive Behaviors Used to Measure
Intellectual Disabilities?")
Other Measures used to determine Intellectual disability
Intelligent Quotient (IQ), is employed by giving them a standard test. The trial will focus
on certain areas that mainly deal with problem-solving, i.e. general deductive and inductive
abilities lying at the core of what is known as the intelligence. Stanford-Binet is one of the
examples use as intelligence tests. Other forms of checking at intellectual disability are included
empirical research (*Observations), documentation of student behavior in small daily activities,
portfolios demonstrating the capability of the student, communicative and concept development
activities. All these techniques are better than the first method because they do not involve direct
dealing with the student, by maybe interviewing him/her or subjecting the victim to a mental test
