Dear Sir/Madam,
This application follows your earlier notice concerning the awarding of
sponsorships to students to further their studies and skills. I am a research student
planning to travel to Moscow, Russia to conduct some research that will improve my
research paper and final school grades. My topic of research involves analyzing the role
of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in understanding the relations
between Russia and the European Union after the former’s annexation of Crimea. I am a
fluent Russian speaker, and the country is relatively familiar to me. The travel is
significant to my studies and my grades since my final grades will determine my career
path, especially in research.
My fluency in the Russian language will enable me quickly adapt to the new
environment and similarly assist in my research thesis. I have scheduled my travel to
Russia for May this year and stay there for approximately two months until June. In the
country, I plan to make use of some libraries including the State Public Historical Library
