There is more to Success than Wealth
In today’s capitalist society, money and material things are commonly used as a yardstick
for judging people’s success. Wealthy people are considered successful and are always glorified.
However, true success cannot be measured by a dollar value: there are other factors that define
how successful a person is. I consider having the peace of mind and achieving personal
aspirations as the greatest achievements ever.
Having a peace of mind is a major step towards achieving personal happiness. It is often
said that money cannot buy happiness, and it is arguably true. Moreover, wealthy is often a cause
of insecurity, anxiety, and worry. Many people live happy lives despite their low life standards.
The prominent historical figures in various fields were not necessarily wealthy. For instance, the
scientist Marie Curie was not rich and did not pay attention to material things. In fact, it is said
that she gave out her gold medal to children as a toy.
Success can also be measured by an individual’s ability to accomplish goals no matter
how infinitesimal they may seem in the eyes of others. The accomplishment of targets takes
courage, dedication, and an unwavering determination. At times showing courage in the face of
adversity as one pursues his or her goals goes a long way underscoring one's success. Such goals
