. The institute’s website is an
independent cultural organization that focuses on collecting documents covering US’s history
during the Colonial period, the civil war, the revolutionary, slavery, antebellum and women’s
history during the period up to the present day. It plays a core role of collecting, sharing and
interpreting key artifacts from American history with teachers, students and parents across the
US. It does so by offering an efficient and effective a searchable database of up to sixty thousand
documents. The website is divided into seven main sections: History by era, which allows
exploration of the institute’s historical content, programs and exhibitions, primary sources of
collections that allow browsing, History now, the community that allows parents and students to

and thematic outlook of unlimited American voices about renowned historians, important places
and America’s political history. GLI ought to improve its search capabilities by availing more
transcripts and digital images. Since GLI aims at supporting the education of history in all
American classrooms, it ought to do so by stepping into the future while bringing the past into
life simultaneously. GLI should form a team made up of renowned historians, the best teachers,
professional in educations and technical consultants to create rich resources that are
characterized by advanced digital technology, which will form a framework, is easy to use and
stimulates growth.
The GLI is very successful in very many ways as it is very resourceful in the provision of
the contents that shaped America’s history. Its primary sources, reference guide and search
features allow its users to easily sort through images and documents thus diving deeply into
history

. The developers are aware of the large amount of information they have packed in their
website and they have therefore provided their users with bookmarks and sharing features, which
make it easier for users to get their bearings. The website developed the ability to bring the
primary source of media such as old-school documents and videos into life. Due to its excellent
content that is expertly written, GLI has achieved the status of an ultra-rich and reliable source,
which has the ability to improve understanding and engagement. It avails to its users so much
content to explore allowing them to dive deep and drink in its riches.

Historians, educators, students and the public are GLI’s main audience. Anyone
interested in US’s political and social history of conformist topics especially those that occurred
before 1877 can be a GLI’s audience since the site gives a collection of information, scholarships
and documents at one place. Despite the inability to search the entire site at once, the site is a
valuable source to its audience especially for those who are patient and willing to take their time
in searching.
A “Republican Mother” is an educated woman. Republican motherhood is based on the
belief that women have the responsibility of raising children who are perfect citizens with
republican principles and values based on their religious beliefs, political views and educational
agendas. The Republican Motherhood occurred at a time in the American history when women
were empowered to not only conduct typical domestic chores but also to pass on the values of
morality and civic duties to their children

. In a Republican government, citizens have
sovereignty and power to elect their leaders and are not subject to the rules of a monarchy. The
American Revolution altered the role of women in the society and it made them to be more
assertive. John’s wife, Abigail Adams was one of the first women to advocate for the rights of
women when she urged her husband to remember women when forming a new government. The
enlightened leaders rejected the moral superiority preached by pre-revolutionary ministers
because according to them women needed schooling in virtue so that they would pass the

knowledge to their children for the success of the whole republic. Their opinion led to the
foundation of the first American female academies in the 1970s.
The sources that are most valuable in the website include “The Doctrine of Discovery,
1493”, “Herbert Hoover on the Great Depression and the new Deal, 1931-1933” and “A Report
on the Reaction to the Stamp Act, 1765” These sources are valuable because they are easily
accessible, and they are very detailed and give very reliable information. Most of these sources
are only available in the GLI website, which increases the value of GLI as a website. From the
effectiveness of these sources, GLI attains its goal of availing to its users enough content, which
gives them the freedom and flexibility of diving deep, and drinking in the riches of its content.
