THE IMPORTANCE OF MARKETING AND PROMOTION IN BUSINESS 2
The Importance of Marketing and Promotion in Business
There are different factors that determine the success of a business. Among these factors
are marketing and promotion. Besides the quality of products, I strongly agree that marketing
and promotion are very pivotal to business growth. Marketing creates awareness among
customers of what the business offers. It offers the business a chance of being discovered by
prospective customers. It also increases the number of sales of the products of a company. Once
the products or services being offered by the business get on the radar screen of its prospects,
chances of consumers to make a purchase increases (Morgan, 2012). The reputation of the
business is also built through marketing. With the growth in reputation, the business expands and
its sales increases. Marketing also fosters healthy competition. When a company advertises the
products it offers with their prices, the other companies producing the same products would
adjust the prices of their goods in an attempt to attract more customers.
Promotion is the voice of a company that sends the message of the company’s brand loud
and clear to the audience. Promotion can be done through different media platforms such as
television, radio, social media and billboards. It increases brand awareness of the company. By
using different media platforms, one can spread across information about their company, which
helps many people to learn more about the company and look for the products and services that it
offers (Belch & Belch, 2015). Promotion also helps in increasing customer traffic. The more one
promotes its brand, the higher the chances that more customers will be aware of the company
and the more they will be interested in the company’s products. Promotion also builds sales and
profit and provide more detailed information about a business. Hence, both marketing and
promotion play important roles in the success of any business.
