The Most Influential Book in My Life
The Magic of Thinking Big is the book that has ever had the most influence in my life.
The book was written by David J Schwartz. From my childhood to the teenage age, everything
that I did was as a result of the instructions and directions given by my guardians. Some
situations in life can make an individual feel incapable of completing tasks and making
achievements like the prominent people. The book influenced me in several ways that I apply in
my daily life. The biggest lesson that I ever learnt from David is that I am better than who I think
I am.
The influence the book had in my life
The power of thinking and dreaming on creativity propels an individual to greater heights
of success than an idle mind that is idle without coming up with something new. Being too much
of a speaker than a listener does not make an individual to progress. The example David gave in
the book are the top leaders (Schwartz, 2016). The leaders have advisers who give directions.
Talking makes people learn the type of person one is and utilize the opportunity to cut short the
dreams. I learnt on monopolizing on listening and at the end when I talk am asking for
clarification of a point that I did not understand. The advice of being a good listener helped me to
gain attention in class and my performance in school improved.
Confidence and considering oneself as important creates room for achievement. Many
people follow the instructions given out even at times when they mislead. Despite having respect
to advisors and guardians, when something has not been put in the right manner we should learn
to correct. No human being is perfect and so the advisors too can slide. David taught me to learn
