about their cultural practices like what they eat, the language they speak or the recreational
activities. We had a very happy moment playing hide and seek with peers in the new
environment. However, it was funny and interesting to learn some traditional dishes that were
much different from our home choices. However, they were delicious and all of us enjoyed it.
Hardly had the lunch elapsed when out parents joined us. They took us to the museum
where we learnt about the different traditions of the American Samoa residents. I learned much
about the wealth animals that were in the orphanage. I also noted some common behaviour traits
in the American Samoa and those of people in the United States. Football was also a common
game played by children in similar fields as we did in our school. We really appreciated the
diversity and common aspects of their culture. We spend two days in the area. The major
activities during this time were random errands and on the second day, we had a mountain
climbing exercise. It was cold and I dreaded being in the bush area. We carried foods and heavy
clothing and went to about 2000 meters level. We enjoyed getting pictures of the snowy zones.
Later in the day, we spend some time with the less privileged and orphans where we donated
clothing and food. We had an opportunity to interact with them and encourage them to
participate in education as any other person. I remember a girl from the children’s home who
was almost my age mate who taught me little greetings from the local language. The day ended
and we spend the night in a restaurant where we were served with the local delicacies.
The time for the return journey came we had to make our way to the airport. The journey
was swift since we had a lot of joy. We had bought attire made in the fashion designs of
American Samoa. We happily chanted hymns that had been made familiar in the new area. We
had a successful journey to our home and thanked our parents. The Pacific visit had exposed us
to education skills. The experience play was exciting and I remember all encounters vividly. I
