1: No Poverty
In as much as this may seem unrealistic, it is quite possible to end poverty everywhere. This will
be a solution to most of the problems that arise from UN Sustainable Development Goals since
most of the problems are interconnected. Getting rid of poverty has the effect of improving the
quality of life, the environment and the climate at large and governance and leadership in
general.
2: Zero Hunger
Human beings are in the best position to eliminate hunger and they can do this by creating better
opportunities for farmers. Also, they could direct their efforts and focus needs on those
individuals and groups of people considered undernourished. Fewer natural resources should be
utilized in the production of food stuff. Also, there should be minimal food waste or loss. Proper
nutrition makes it possible for one to balance the proportions of food they need to eat and
therefore cases of hunger and obesity are eliminated.
3: Good Health and Well-being
Nutrition has a big role to play when it comes to one’s health and wellbeing. When they are able
to access quality foods, such scenarios as contraction of lifestyle diseases are avoided. With
innovative ways that technology has introduced the world to, various delivery models and
inventions are applied to make sure healthy living is within reach. Such technologies as clinic
checks, telemedicine and screening are there to make sure that the body performs efficiently at
all times with minimal hitches.
4: Quality Education
Quality education is inclusive and equitable in nature and it provides lifelong learning
opportunities to its subscribers. Incorporation of quality education with technology aids in
transforming delivery of content. An effective combination of policies and incentives makes
lifelong learning possible. With lifelong skills being acquired, on can apply them in various
fields for the rest of their life. Such skills dwell on critical thinking, collaboration and flexibility
amidst complexities.
5: Gender Equality
With achievement of gender equality, all women and girls have to be in the equation. They are
empowered through various platforms so that they are considered as equal partners to boys and
men. They are emancipated and given considerations in schools, boardrooms, government and
political positions and in practicing fields which were originally viewed as male dominated
(Vasseur, 2017).
6: Clean Water and Sanitation
Clean water is a must have in any society as it is a basic necessity. Such programs as treatment of
waste water make it possible. There are plenty of technologies that have been devised in order to
make waste water reusable for various purposes e.g. industries and agriculture. This leaves a lot
of fresh water for humans and nature to use.
7: Affordable and Clean Energy
Distributed energy technology has been devised and it is being applied in solving the global issue
on energy access. Also adoption of renewable sources of energy which are harmless to the
environment means that energy will be sustainable and clean which is beneficial for future
generations.
8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
Economic growth can be termed as sustainable and inclusive when it is in a position to provide
employment and investment opportunities and decent work and pay for all. This requires
involvement of effective and transparent institutions that protect property rights, fight impunity
and corruption and take care of all inconsistencies in the economy. A stable and predictable
business environment is necessary for any form of investments.
9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Innovation comes in play with invention of digital infrastructure that is able to improve the
creation scope. With newer technologies and devices, process in industries are eased and made
faster and more efficient. The collaborative innovation processes ought to take care of waste
resource elimination instead of replacement of labor with technology.
10: Reduced Inequality
Reduced inequality within and among countries new the opportunities to grow and expand
operations are unlimited and not restricted by the governments involved. Formulation of policies
and frameworks which grant economies a chance at growth are best in elimination of inequality.
Such economies support entrepreneurship efforts and regard ethical in the business environment.
11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
For a city to be regarded as sustainable, safe and inclusive, there has to be incorporation of
various layers of intelligence. The leadership of such a city is given power to govern the
activities within the city with minimal interference. Smart planning involves creation of useful,
and inclusive urban spaces which can serve the various functions intended within the city.
12: Responsible Consumption and Production
On making sure that consumption and production patterns are sustainable, reusable resources
should be optimized. Also, linear supply chains should be turned into closed loops that ultimately
add value. With improved technology, this can be enabled through identification and removal of
environmentally harmful subsidies.
13: Climate Action
When it comes to taking charge of climate, various agreements have been reached and they are
all aimed at making sure the carbon content in the atmosphere is at its lowest. There are many
innovations which have been created that use low carbon and hence aid in reducing such
adversities as global warming.
14: Life Below Water
Life below water is preserved through management of oceans to avoid pollution through such
practices as acidification and deposition of waste. Healthy oceans are essential for survival of life
below the water since they are sources of oxygen, protein and oil and gases.
15: Life on Land
Life on land is preserved through efforts on protection, restoration and sustainable use of
terrestrial ecosystems. Also, such practices as deforestation are shunned through afforestation
and reforestation. This way, desertification and excessive soil erosion is reduced. Land
degradation is reversed through practices such as land reclamation which makes land useful once
again.
16: Peace and Justice Strong Institutions
On peace and justice, societies have to be inclusive and display equality for purposes of
sustainable development. Every human being is treated in a just manner by the institutions
present for accountability purposes. Constitutional reforms come in handy in tackling human
injustices and hence fostering peaceful societies (Madeley, 2015).
