urges that can be described as primitive; and aggression are controlled by these instincts.
Nonetheless, they never reach the level of consciousness that they can be noted by the people.
They are also unacceptable in the realms of conscious mind (McLeod, 2009).
Synthesis and how it works
The unconscious mind is so low and undetectable. Perhaps the question that many people
would ask is “how does the unconscious mind get to be formed?” The path to the formation of
the unconscious mind components involve a lot of first hand experiences. Nobody would
develop a mental picture about something or an event without having one-on-one interaction
with such kind of event. Unconscious mind is formed at the time that people experience various
things by observation, participation or even hearing. When they record such information in their
minds as part of the long-term memory, such experiences eventually formulate the unconscious
mind. In essence, this sort of mind is very crucial in helping the person to make decisions due to
that fact that the person can use the unconscious mind to control actions. In most cases, the
unconscious mind is controlling human behavior, actions or activity based on the prevailing
societal considerations of morality and immorality.
Unconscious mind works in various ways. One of the functions and a typical example of
how unconscious mind works is pegged on time remembrance. Basically, it helps people to recall
the time to switch in various activities. Such include the habit of waking up in the morning at a
specific time without using an alarm (Bush, 2012). Another general but primary function of the
unconscious mind is that it controls human physical actions. It helps people to decide on
something or to leave. As an example, one may decide not to smoke in a public place after
relating the possible incidence with what he or she has in the unconscious mind. Perhaps, a past
experience with law enforcers. In conclusion, it is a very crucial but dormant mind.
