them were deployed in dangerous zones. Servicewomen in Vietnam witnessed many of the same
hardships as their male counterparts and served bravely in dangerous situations.
Apart from the army women, other civilian women showed their heroism offered their services
voluntarily in the course of the war in Vietnam. It is prudent that all acknowledge both the
women that took part in the Vietnam war as well as their families that have endured much pain
due to loss of their loved ones, the challenges of taking care of the disabled and the trauma they
suffered due to the extreme conditions that their loved ones went through to provide care,
comfort fort the victims of the war.
The Vietnam nurses documentary divulges the emotional story of the women that were served
during the war in Vietnam and had to experience changes in their lives due to the war casualties.
These women portrayed heroisms through what they exposed themselves to see, to do and the
costs of life, physical and mental disorders they suffered were heroic. They deserve an award of
heroism because they lost their innocence to the war. It is against these assertions that the
women were recognized of their heroism through awarding numerous heroic awards as
individuals and as groups. Other recognitions were through setting up of the Vietnam women’s
memorial on the walls alongside the male veterans. In 2017, the women heroines were honored
by president Trump as the servicemen and women honored on anniversary of Vietnam War
Veterans Day.
In summary, Vietnam nurses among other women than were no nurses deserve to be
acknowledging as heroes because of their bravery, self sacrifice in the war. Many of these
women died n line of duty. Others suffered metal illnesses such as post traumatic stress disorder
and stroke because of what they witnessed. Their families too have suffered losses of their loved.
