Thesis: Technology is changing so rapidly that it is hard for most companies to keep up. One
thing that they all use is voice recognition in almost all of their products. The ways they use this
is by playing back simple information, hands free device in cars, and even though it’s a slightly
different form of voice recognition, in major crime scenes caught on camera.

Abstract
Voice Recognition software gives you the ability to use a phone, computer, or even TY
however, you chose. By using it through a phone whether it is apples, Siri, or Microsoft Cortana,
you have the ability to look up the weather, make calendar changes or even set alarms whenever
you choose. We first began to see voice recognition in our cars using Bluetooth, or having access
you the hands-free button on our respective steering wheels. Presently, Comcast, the cable and
network company, have released their own voice recognition which operates in a TV remote.
This allows users to speak into the remote in case they are having trouble finding a particular
show or station so speaking into the remote allows them to go straight to their program. Voice
recognition is advancing rapidly; all new technology is becoming to have it, or will have it. Even
Xbox or PlayStation, just regular gaming devices are gaining the software.

Because of the rapid changes in technology, it is important for companies to adapt. The
ability to stay on the course of technological advancement ensures that organizations are capable
of competing effectively on the market in the delivery of services to clients. One of the ways
through which they can adapt to changes is by incorporating voice recognition in their
technological framework. This can be achieved through the playback service on existent
operations, hands-free technology in automobiles and investigating crime scenes derived from
CCTV surveillance.
Voice recognition serves as a tool for the delivery of playback services by the needs of
the users. In most cases, the service utilizes a voice-activated application that can listen to the
user. Most technology companies have integrated the service into their systems to enhance the
level of comfort of their clients. Google has Google voice services, a service that captures sound
when activated. Activation of the service entails tapping the microphone button. The sounds are
sent to a buffering stage for word extraction. The design of the buffer allows it to hold data for a
short time. After extracting the words from audio, the results are delivered to Google through the
cloud feature. Google works on the results based on the expectations of the user (Auger, 2017).
The user’s Google account serves as a storage platform for the recorded audio. Amazon’s
Echo operates in the same way as Google voice services. However, it is a standalone system
activated by recognition of the name Alexa. After acknowledging the name, the device listens,
sends the audio to buffer and the extracted information sent to cloud for execution of the
intended purpose (Kulhalli et al., 2017). It can be incorporated in providing compiled weather
reports. Modern Smart TVs have two microphones to serve different functions. The first one
allows the owner to make commands whenever there is need to change a channel or adjust the

system’s volume. The second microphone, activated by pressing a button on a remote, listens to
audio and sends it to cloud for action.
The hand's free services developed as a mobile phone technology. It is presently run on
automobiles. From its name, it makes it possible for the user to control a vehicle without
necessarily incorporating hands. The service is normally delivered with the help of software. The
software is embedded in the physical framework of the vehicles. Some of the applications under
the service include controlling the universal temperature, navigating in unknown destinations and
playing entertainment systems. The process of controlling applications works by voice
command. Transmission of the voice command takes place with the help of the Bluetooth
technology. Advancement in the Bluetooth technology in automobiles has made it possible to
promote safer driving practices.
Vehicles run on the hand's free technology incorporate a microphone fixed on the
steering wheel to enable the process of transmitting commands to initiate specific applications.
Different kinds of software have different applications in the operation of applications in
vehicles. In some cases, the developed software can offer free options that allow the driver to
initiate diverse applications at the same time. Some of the benefits that can be achieved in the use
of the hand's free technology are navigating with the aid of the internet, conversing through texts,
activation, and entertainment system with a voice command, using a voice command to activate
a phone call and communicating with different applications in a vehicle. Voice recognition has
been incorporated to enhance the comfort of automobile company users (Fontan et al., 2017).
Modern vehicles in General Motors have a system that allows parents to make adjustments on
the volume of the radio, control and automobile’s speed and revoke some applications in case
seat belts are unfastened.

The voice recognition service makes it possible for forensic experts to extract
conversations from surveillance footages. In the quest for evidence, audio conversations play a
role in ensuring the attainability of an accurate match in the voice and the respective individual.
The technology of speech recognition allows for the reconstruction of chats from people on
screen irrespective of the unavailability of sound (Habbal et al., 2010). In this exercise, a
machine is programmed to extract words from the movement of lips. The technology has made
it possible to read people’s lips in artificial intelligence, hence lessening the workload entailed
during criminal and forensic investigations. The voice recognition technology can also be used in
confirming the identity of a masked criminal. The exercise is performed through voice analysis.
With the help of the technology, it is possible for security firms to investigate and track crimes
before they occur. They can do this by analyzing phone conversations. In centers prone to
fraudsters such as banks, voice biometrics can be incorporated to authenticate users.
Voice recognition is an accurate and fast technique during criminal investigations. The
processes entailed in need to gather intelligence includes arranging recorded voices, performing
scans in an attempt to associate voices to respective criminals, analyzing the sound by dialects
pertaining the specific language, analyzing and controlling the influence of noise and verifying
the validity of the recordings. This practice is performed on all voices, especially those with the
content of plans for executing criminal activities. The method of analyzing voices differs
depending on the phonetics derived from the potential victim. For all the applications of speech
recognition systems in surveillance scenes, audio content serves as proof of the crime. Voice

extending into the gaming realm for PlayStation. The hand's free technology is likely to be a
determinant for modern vehicles in the future. The likelihood of practicing safe driving with the
integrated technological service is likely to enhance its superiority on the market.
