WHY AM IN COLLEGE 3
Additionally, BCCC College would help me develop socially and emotionally. Students
in the college come from various backgrounds and places. Thus, I stand a chance to engage with
different groups of students who may be vital in my education as well as my social life.
Understanding and learning how different individuals respond and react to particular situations
would help me develop my skills in presenting and executing ideas. Indeed, the college would
help me learn about diverse cultural backgrounds, which would be essential for my future career
as an entrepreneur since I would interact with customers from diverse cultural heritage. On the
other hand, the college has various students’ organizations through which I can gain leadership
skills. Undeniably, leadership skills are invaluable in all aspects of life. College organizations
offer opportunities to give back to the society mainly through the acts of voluntary service,
hosting charity drives, and sponsoring events. Such actions would help me extend my kind acts
to the community.
Lastly, the college presents numerous opportunities to learn and know more about
myself, my goals, strengths, and weaknesses. For instance, for the little period I have been in
college, I have learned that I am good at serving others and multitasking. I think I still have more
to learn about myself, which could be necessary for my future career and life in general. College
also remains fundamental in assisting students to develop soft skills. Therefore, I believe soft
skills such as attitude, communication, and work ethics would transform me into a well-rounded
person. I can also not deny the fact that college helps in making an individual a team player thus
creating networking opportunities. Irrefutably, I believe I am in college to achieve my dream and
learn more about life since education is a continuous process.
