Women in Culture
Introduction
The women form an important part of our society. Despite the fact that there exists the
perception by many of them being inferior, I personally have a different view in consideration of
the work they do. I have the feeling they are worth appreciation.
Role of women
With my thinking, the feel that we sometimes get too held up in our endeavors to spare a
little of our time and acknowledge the contributions of women in the things that happen in the
society. Despite the cultural view that the women are inferior, they have undergone several
challenges and emerged victoriously. This is, therefore, an indication of their remarkable
contributions and they should not be looked down upon (Duflo, 2012).
Additionally, they have given proof that it is not worth considering them as less able. The
truth is that they have the capabilities of realizing remarkable dreams in this globe. It is for the
same reason that idea of women empowerment is a significant communal push of demanding
respect rather than requesting for it as they have proof to justify it. Despite having been
considered as inferior in different circumstances historically, they have sought new ways of
inspiring, changing, as well as shaping the community (Lopez-Claros & Zahidi, 2005).
The thought of my mom always fills my mind anytime I think of a strong individual. She
expresses strength in all her duties including the small ones such as daily laundry and even house
cleaning which she often does after spending the entire day at her place of work. Her passion for
being a mother is extended to her teaching profession. She is the kind of a person that routinely
