WVU Student Recreation Center
Introduction
The WVU Student Recreation Center existence has contributed to the interest and
knowledge that students have had in a number of years due to their services. It has attracted the
attention of the learners as they find the centre strategically placed such that they can access it at
any time and they are in a position to learn at all times due to the operating hours of the library.
The centre was also free for some time before the management incorporated the idea of charging
the students at an affordable rate which is about $1.25 per hour for the parking. According to
them, they feel the charges are relevant since the knowledge that a student’s stands to gain is
incomparable and it is also a way to regulate the idlers who get in the library and have nothing
meaningful thing to execute. It also regulates the number of vehicles parked at the institution as
prior to the charges; the centre would have many vehicles with some lacking some parking
space. It is also a chance through which they can raise a few finances for the transportation
department in the recreation centre as they can help in improving the services at the centre (Omar
et al, 27). They can also do something constructive with the finances that will add value to the
services the student’s access to the library. For the purpose of the study, the researcher will focus
on the interview session between the researcher and the management of the recreation centre.

Q. Please comment on the parking fees that has attracted the attention of the students?
A. The issue of parking fees did not get the reception we expected and with time, we believe that
people and the public at large will understand why we had the idea of having parking fees. The
role it plays is limiting the number of people as well as raises some funds for the entity which it
can use to improve the services they offer to the public.
Q. And do you have anything else to add?
A. The centre is open to all people from all areas in the world and one who visits country should
spare some time and visit the premises. We believe that anyone who steps in the centre does not
come out the same as they have gained a considerable amount of knowledge that contributes to
their lives both in the long run and in the short run. We also understand that there are older adults
who enrol in school to advance their education which means that they are also welcome at the
institution to learn and have their studies. They can drop in at any time as long as it is within the
operating hours. The meaning of the recreation centre gives the visitors who are mostly students
the chance to learn and wind up through the fun sessions on the ground.
Visit the organisation
At a first glance, the WVU Student Recreation Center appears like an old building like
any other in the city and could pass for a residential place. The parking lot has a few empty
places and the parking manager is on time to pick the charges as well as direct the vehicle to the
right parking slot. Vehicles parked at the entity are for those getting in the library and no outside
people have the permission to park there. A walk to the library reveals that there are many
students present and there is silence in the library such that the level of concentration that the
learners show is encouraging, one does not have to pay an entrance fee and after the mandatory

security check, one can access the building. Once inside, one can see thousands of books with all
genres stocked in the library, for ease navigation within the centre, there is a map that guides
people on how to go about searching for books or anything of interest. There are also library
attendants in place and on the ground who go around the library at different times to ensure that
the learners and visitors maintain law and order within the premises. It is also a way to ensure
that they help anyone who may need some form of help in searching the books or gathering some
important information. The library does not stock outdated books and is keen to ensure that they
have the latest publications of a certain book which allows the learners the chance to have the
latest and most relevant information.
The area is also clean and has fresh air despite the number of people who visit the
premises as they ensure that they have the latest form of air conditioners. Suffice to say, the
recreation centre is a nice place where people can connect and have meetings within the outside
area which has a beautiful and well-maintained terrain which attracts the attention of the visitors.
A visit to the entity also reveals that one can spend the day there and step out to have lunch and
then come back as there is no limit to the amount of time that one should spend there. The high
traffic on the number of students visiting the area is also encouraging that young people have
adopted and embraced the learning culture which is healthy and good for their brains.
Re-assess of the organisation
The firm still plays a great role in the lives of learners through offering a safe and
conducive environment through which they can study and review their studies. The management
ensures that they give them a chance to experiment with the books through stocking more than
one type of book on a certain subject (Fields et al. 78). It also allows them the chance to compare
Surname 5
and contrast about different ideas by different authors. It gives them the culture of reading and
with the modern day idea of technology; the centre is a haven away from the many things that
catch the attention of an individual. It is, therefore, worth saying that any change that the
management makes to the recreation centre happens with the sole reason and purpose of
improving the services that the institution offers. There are projections and ideas put across and
within the right time-frame, they will come into action which will further improve the services
offered by the entity. It also means that an increase in the parking fees is a positive step that
students and other interested stakeholders need to embrace and adhere as they are a contribution
to services they get at the centre. The management also claims that future changes will happen at
the centre after they agree on the best strategies to adopt so that the students can feel comfortable
at the centre as they learn.
